Plans change. You might have created an order by mistake, or demand priorities might have shifted. Here is how to handle cancellations and understanding their impact.
Location: Open the Manufacturing Order you wish to cancel.
1. Cancelling a Draft
If the order is still in Drafted status, it has no impact on your inventory yet.
Action: Click Delete or Cancel.
Result: The order is simply removed. Since no materials were allocated, nothing changes in your stock levels.
2. Cancelling a Confirmed or In-Production Order
If the order was Confirmed (and materials were allocated) or In Production:
Action: Click the Cancel Manufacturing Order button.
Result for Raw Materials:
Tightly immediately releases all allocated raw materials.
These materials become "Available" again for other orders.
Note: If you physically moved materials to the production line, ensure they are returned to their storage bins physically.
3. Impact on Smart Replenishment
Remember that a Confirmed MO counts as "Incoming Supply."
When you Cancel an order, that incoming supply is removed.
Result: The next time Smart Replenishment calculates demand, it will likely recommend this product again, because the supply hole that the MO was filling is now open again.
