Managing Events in Tightly

The Events page in Tightly allows you to plan demand adjustments for specific occasions, such as promotions, seasonal spikes, or marketing campaigns. The structure is almost identical to the Demand Planning page - you will see the same search bar, unit/revenue drop-down, and date picker at the top. However, there are key differences in how demand can be managed when tied to an event.


How Events Work

  • When you add a product to an event, its planned demand value can only be updated within the Events page.

  • This restriction ensures no accidental modifications happen in the Demand Planning page.

  • The date picker is also limited to the event’s start and end dates, so you can only plan demand within the defined event period.

You can edit:

  • Event Name

  • Event Description

You cannot edit:

  • The event’s time period (start and end dates are fixed once created).

Just like in Demand Planning, you can double-click on cells to edit demand values. Clicking the checkmark confirms your updates, and the adjusted demand will immediately be considered in replenishment recommendations.


Best Practices for Event Planning

To get the most accurate replenishment recommendations, always plan events in advance. If an event is only a few days away, Tightly may not have enough lead time to recommend the right stock quantities, which risks under-stocking. Entering event demand early ensures recommendations align with your suppliers’ lead times and keeps your replenishment smooth.


Managing Events

You can manage existing events in the following ways:

  • Edit → Update the name and description.

  • Cancel → Keeps the event in the list on the Events page, but reverts all demand changes made through that event.

  • Delete → Permanently removes the event and reverts all demand changes tied to it.

Both cancelling and deleting an event will remove its impact on product plan values.
