How Do I Update the Batch Size of a Product?

Updated over a week ago

The Batch Size field determines the quantity multiple required by your supplier when placing a purchase order. For example, if a v must be ordered in sets of 10, the batch size should be set to 10. Tightly uses this value to validate PO quantities and ensure your orders align with supplier constraints.

Option 1: Editing Batch Size for a Single Product

  1. Go to Manage > Inventory.

  2. Use the search bar or filters to find the product you want to update.

  3. Locate the Batch Size column.

  4. Click directly on the value (or empty cell if not yet set).

  5. Enter the new batch size and press Enter or click outside the cell to save.

Once entered, this batch size will be enforced during purchase order creation.

Option 2: Bulk Editing Batch Size for Multiple Products

  1. Select products using the checkboxes on the Inventory table.

  2. After selection, the Quick Actions bar will appear.

  3. Click Edit Selected Products.

  4. In the modal, check the Batch Size field and enter the value.

  5. Click Apply Changes to update all selected products.

Tip: Use filters (e.g., by supplier, category, or missing batch size) to target the right set of variants.

Notes

  • Tightly checks Batch Size during purchase order creation:

    • If a product’s quantity in the Basket is not a multiple of the batch size, a warning will appear.

    • You’ll have the option to apply the recommended quantity that satisfies both the MOQ and Batch Size.

  • Setting a Batch Size helps reduce PO rework and prevents compliance issues with suppliers.
