The Default Supplier field in Tightly determines which supplier is automatically used for replenishment, lead time, MOQ, and batch size logic for a given product or variant. You can update this supplier in several ways depending on how many products you want to manage at once.
Option 1: Assign or Change via Quick Actions (Bulk)
Go to Manage > Inventory.
Use filters or search to find the products or variants you want to update.
Select one or more rows using the checkboxes.
The Quick Actions bar will appear above the table.
Click Edit Selected Products, select Supplier from dropdown as a field to be updated and select the supplier from the dropdown to assign.
The selected supplier will be set as the default immediately for all selected items.
Tip: This is the fastest way to assign or replace a supplier for multiple products at once.
Option 2: Edit Directly in the Table
Find the row you want to edit in the Inventory table.
Double-click on the Default Supplier cell.
A dropdown list of available suppliers will appear.
Select the desired supplier from the list.
Changes are saved instantly and update any logic (e.g. replenishment, PO creation) tied to the supplier.
Tip: To edit the Default Supplier directly from the Inventory table using double-click, make sure the table is not grouped by product.
When grouped, individual variant rows are hidden under the product, and inline edits (like supplier changes) are disabled.
To make inline edits, switch to an ungrouped view so you can interact with each variant row directly.
Option 3: Update from the Variant Page
From the Inventory page or elsewhere, click into the Variant.
Click Edit Variant.
Locate the Default Supplier field.
Choose a new supplier and save changes.
This method is ideal for reviewing and editing other variant-level details at the same time.
Notes
The default supplier determines which supplier’s lead time, MOQ, and batch size are used during replenishment and PO creation.
A product or variant must have a default supplier and unit cost assigned to be eligible to be recommended by Tightly as a replenishment recommendation.
You can assign a different supplier per variant, even under the same product.
